Democratic Socialists, President Bush, and Big Money Bailouts

President Bush is a good man with a good heart, but he needs a better spirit of discernment.  Without it, he ends up trusting people who shouldn’t be trusted, like:

Vladimir Putin in June 2001:

PRESIDENT PUTIN: …Can we trust Russia? I’m not going to answer that. I could ask the very same question.

PRESIDENT BUSH: I will answer the question. I looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straightforward and trustworthy. We had a very good dialogue. I was able to get a sense of his soul; a man deeply committed to his country and the best interests of his country.

Henry Paulson now, whose $700 Billion dollar bailout number was, as a Treasury spokeswoman told Forbes.com,

not based on any particular data point…We just wanted to choose a really large number.

Senator Chuck Schumer in September 2001.   Five days after 9/11, Schumer asked President Bush for $20 Billion dollars and it appears that bailout number was also not based on any real data, but was just a really large number:

SCHUMER: I just wanted to just say another word about the president, because he really helped this dramatically. You know, we made the pitch to him, and I said, “Mr. President, we just need this $20 billion.” And I thought he’d say, “Well, let’s start off with $5 billion, it’s a huge sum of money. Let me – give me a list.”

And instead, he just uttered three words. He said, “You’ve got it.”

And I stood up, I was ready to hug him, I couldn’t, because he was president.

(LAUGHTER)

I, for one, am not laughing.

The Democratic Socialists are not to be trusted, and this bill, like Sarbanes-Oxley, would do more harm than good!  It must be stopped!

People who are reluctantly backing this bill are doing so in the mistaken belief that it will help avert an even larger crisis.  What they don’t realize is that the financial puppet masters will pull the strings to create a crisis EITHER WAY!  This bailout bill just gives them additional (unconstitutional) power!

What should we do?

1) Repeal Sarbanes-Oxley,
2) Pass the Fair tax,
3) Immediately start extracting oil from the vast resources in oil shale, ANWR, and off-shore drilling.

Do those three things, and our economy will boom.

Don’t tell me that Paulson is a Republican.  His associations and track record prove otherwise.  Paulson must be “contained“.

Who does President Bush need to listen to?  People like GOP Representative Jeb Hensarling, who is a profile in courage.  Jeb has had a lot to do with Energy Freedom Day.  Jeb is right, and I pray for President Bush to realize that.
