The Tipping Point

A small percentage of Americans already recognize what all Americans will understand by the time of the elections this November:

We have reached the tipping point. And there is no turning back.

Just as a lake is:
water when the temperature is 104 degrees F (40 degrees C), and
water when the temperature is 95 degrees F (35 degrees C), and
water when the temperature is 86 degrees F (30 degrees C), and
water when the temperature is 77 degrees F (25 degrees C), and
water when the temperature is 68 degrees F (20 degrees C), and
water when the temperature is 59 degrees F (15 degrees C), and
water when the temperature is 50 degrees F (10 degrees C), and
water when the temperature is 41 degrees F (5 degrees C), and
water when the temperature is 33 degrees F (0.56 degrees C),
something powerful happens when the temperature drops that last little bit to 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius)…

The tipping point is reached, and the lake begins to freeze.

Overnight, the surface can change so significantly that the next morning you can walk on it.

The same thing has happened with gas prices and our Republic. The higher prices went, the more people suffered. Since Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid took over congress, gas prices have roughly doubled. And it appears that $4/gallon was the tipping point. The pain to the average American became so great that political apathy began to change into political action.

People started contacting their Representatives and Senators, demanding that something be done.

The President led by example and ended the Executive Branch ban on offshore drilling. That alone did not increase production, because there is still a Legislative Branch ban on offshore drilling. But the mere threat of increased production sent ripples through the highly speculative oil futures market, and resulted in a drop of over $20/barrell in oil prices.

Now “We the People” are demanding that Congress lift their ban so that the prices can drop even more significantly and additional oil can start to flow. Nancy Pelosi Antoinette figuratively gives us the finger and tells us to just eat cake. And the 2nd American Revolution has begun with the “Texas Tea Party“.

I completely agree with Representative John Culberson who twittered:

This is an exciting moment for America: this event is the dawn of real time democracy through real time representatives, and no turning back

I have a dream. A dream of a Republic where our elected representatives are influenced by “real time democracy” from We the People, rather than lobbyists and special interests.

God Bless America, Land That I Love!
Stand Beside Her, And Guide Her,
Through The Night With The Light From Above.

O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war’s desolation!
Blest with vict’ry and peace, may the Heaven-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation
.
Then conquer we must when our cause it is just
And this be our motto: “In God is our Trust.”

And the Star-Spangled Banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

  2. Just in case anyone thinks this isn’t an issue anymore, remember that if prices can come down from $4/gal to $1.50/gal in two months, they can also go back up to $4/gal in 2 months.

And the Democratic Socialists in Washington, D.C. want gasoline prices to be $4 to $8/gal.

    Drill Here! Drill Now!
