Today is both Flag Day and the birthday of the United States Army.
For the record…
Here’s what Google’s home page looks like today:

And here’s what Bing’s home page looks like today:

That’s just one of many reasons why I use Bing, and not Google.
Happy Flag Day!
The United States of America is a REPUBLIC, not a “Democracy”.
The only part of our government that is a representative “Democracy” is the House of Representatives. And that part is only one part of the larger Republic.
I pledge allegiance to the flag and to the Republic for which it stands.
Thank you, General Washington, and everyone who has ever served in the U.S. Army!
Happy Birthday, Army!
Do take note of the year in which our Army was birthed:
We already had an Army when the following order was issued by the Continental Congress…
Think that national day of unified “HUMILIATION, FASTING, and PRAYER” on May 17, 1776 had anything to do with the signing of the Declaration of Independence 48 days later, and with the answered prayer to
“crown the Continental arms by sea and land with victory and success”?

They’ll commemorate “Earth Day” and the anniversary of some random World’s Fair event, but not the US Army’s birthday?
Google also did not commemorate D-day, but Bing did… with a picture of the American cemetery in Normandy, and several linked stories.
I don’t remember Google commemorating V-E Day for that matter. Let’s see if they’ll commemorate V-J Day coming up on August 15th.
Must be a PC thing.
Well, 2 September for the US.
