“AP” here can actually refer equally to two different entities:
1) AllahPundit
2) The Associated Press. The Associated Press propaganda spin machine is spinning faster than an Iranian centerfuge.
Let’s face some simple, straightforward facts, and put the rumors to rest.
A single honest recitation of the Shahadah in Arabic is all that is required for a person to become a Muslim. A conversion to Islam is meant to be a one-way process, both for the individual and their descendants.
The Associated Press overlooks the simple fact that Barack Hussein Obama took Shahada.
With his own mouth, Barack Hussein Obama has publicly confessed the Muslim confession of faith, but there is no record of Barack Hussein Obama ever having publicly confessed the Christian confession of faith.
Saying “I am a Christian” does not make you a Christian.
Barack Hussein Obama has never publicly confessed “Jesus Christ is Lord, and I believe in my heart that God has raised Him from the dead”.
But he has confessed the words that Muslims recognize as the Muslim confession of faith.
Yes, the words Obama has confessed from his own mouth make him a Muslim, not a Christian.
Barack Hussein Obama took Shahada.
Face the facts, Associated Press, and stop spreading false rumors.
——————————————————————————————————
This Associated Press story by Hillel Italie begins as follows:
“President Obama is a Muslim.” “He’s not an American citizen.” “He wasn’t even born here.”
None of this is true. But to surprising levels, it is believed.
Blame it on the media, or on human nature. All presidents deal with image problems – that they’re too weak or too belligerent, too far left or far right. But Obama also faces questions over documented facts, in part because some people identify more with the rumormongers than the debunkers.
Let’s debunk that, shall we?
“President Obama is a Muslim.”
Barack Hussein Obama took Shahada. The confessions of his own mouth make him a Muslim.
“He’s not an American citizen.”
As long as he can prove his claim that he was born at Kapi’olani Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii, then he was born a citizen of the United States. But he has yet to release a document directly from the State of Hawaii to prove that this “birth narrative” is true. The Governor of Hawaii has claimed:
we issued a news release at that time saying that the president was, in fact, born at Kapi’olani Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. And that’s just a fact…
But that’s not a fact. Dr. Fukino’s October 31, 2008 news release did not say that Obama was born at Kapi’olani Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. And that’s just a fact…
And Dr. Fukino was not even willing to issue a press release saying “Obama was born in Hawaii” until after the U.S. House of Representatives voted in favor of a resolution containing those words. Which Government organization was the first to say, “Obama was born in Hawaii”? Before you read what I just wrote, would your answer have been, “The Hawaii State Department of Health”? Sorry, that answer is not a winner.
Let’s get back to debunking the current Associated Press story…
“He wasn’t even born here.”
I don’t know where he was born. Members of the Kenyan government claim he is a son of their soil. And Barack Hussein Obama has yet to release a document directly from the State of Hawaii to prove that this “birth narrative” is true. We’re expected to believe a document that first appeared on Daily Kos along with an obvious forgery, and then was produced in hard copy form at and by the Obama campaign headquarters in Chicago but only shown to a small, politically-connected group of people.
“President Obama is a Muslim.” “He’s not an American citizen.” “He wasn’t even born here.”
None of this is true. But to surprising levels, it is believed.
The Associated Press claims “None of this is true”, yet they provide no evidence of their claims. They just expect you to believe them. But people have been waking up to how the press has misled them.
Parsing the Associated Press Story About Barack Hussein Obama’s Official Birth Certificate
Associated Press Distorts Again
Back to the current Associated Press story…
Blame it on the media, or on human nature. All presidents deal with image problems – that they’re too weak or too belligerent, too far left or far right. But Obama also faces questions over documented facts, in part because some people identify more with the rumormongers than the debunkers
We blame the media for caring more about the background of “Joe the Plumber” than “Barack the President”. We blame the media for distorting the truth. We blame CNN for editing Governor Lingle’s words to conceal her lie and create their own Lie. We blame the media for falsely complaining “Obama also faces questions over documented facts” – the media has failed to do it’s job – they have not asked the right questions, they have distorted the truth, and they insist that claims that have not been documented are “documented facts”.
Face the facts, Associated Press, CNN, and the rest of the Lamestream Media, and stop spreading false rumors and distortions.
August 21, 2010 at 8:19 am
If it’s a “documented fact” that Obama is a Christian and not a Muslim, then where is the “documentation” showing that he didn’t really mean it when he took Shahada and confessed the Muslim confession of faith?
Where is the “documentation” showing that Obama has ever done what the Bible says you must do to be saved?
Where is the “documentation” showing that Obama has confessed the Christian confession of faith?
The Associated Press says:
Are we supposed to just take spokesman Bill Burton’s word on that? If this is supposed to be a “documented fact” as the AP claims, then where is the “documentation” to back up Bill Burton’s claim?
Have we ever heard Obama say a Christian prayer? Have we ever heard Obama say “Jesus is Lord”, or even mention “Lord Jesus”? Have we ever heard Obama say that he believes in the resurrection of Jesus Christ? Not to my knowledge.
If “The president is obviously a Christian”, where is the “obvious” evidence?
For all we know, the claim that “He prays every day” could mean that he prays toward Mecca five times a day.
If Barack Hussein Obama were to ever publicly say, “I did not mean it when I took Shahada, and I confess that Jesus is Lord and I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead”, then I would accept that as “obvious” evidence that Obama is a Christian and not a Muslim.

This post is categorized under Christian Nation and Presidential Eligibility.
I just want to clarify why. The “Christian Nation” tag is because of the discussion of Christianity. The “Presidential Eligibility” tag is becaus of the discussion of Obama’s birth narrative. I want to clarify that those are two separate and distinct issues.
Openly admitting to being a Muslim would not have had any impact at all on Obama’s eligibility to hold the office of President and Commander in Chief. (There are other issues related to Obama’s eligibility, but this is not one of them). But it would have had a very significant impact on Obama’s electability.
I discussed that in greated detail in the update to this post.
August 21, 2010 at 8:49 am
The AP is scared. Very scared. People are talking about Obama’s faith, and his confession of the Shahada, more now than they were July 21 to Aug. 5.
The truth is getting out there, in spite of the Lamestream Media spin. In fact, the harder and faster the media spins, the more people want to find out the truth.
It would not surprise me at all if the percentage of people who believe Obama is a Christian has dropped even further that what was reported in this Pew survey:
August 21, 2010 at 5:10 pm
Clearly Barry Soetero/Barack Obama was reared as a Muslim and is considered Muslim by the Muslim world. Both BS/BO’s father and his stepfather were Muslim, which is evidence that his mother was Muslim, and his Muslim half-sister once said that “all his family are Muslim.” If BS/BO had gone apostate, he would be utterly condemned under Islamic law and would be fair game for murder for the crime of leaving Islam.
But our president has never left Islam, is not an apostate Muslim, has repeatedly called Islam a “great religion” and has actively advanced Islam by word and deed. Joining Jeremiah Wright’s black liberation, America-hating church was in all likelihood a political act, designed to broaden his leftist political base. Leaving it was also a political act and did not affect Soetero/Obama’s relationship to God any more than joining that hate-group did.

Harry H,
Thank you for your comment. You make very good points, and here are a few more thoughts that your comment triggered. I think that if you made a checklist of all of the things that are important to the Muslim world, you would find that Obama has done many of the things on that list. Here are just a few examples:
Born of a Muslim father? – Check.
Lived in a Muslim nation? – Check. (And not just any Muslim nation, but the world’s most populous Muslim nation, Indonesia)
Registered in school with “Religion: Islam”? – Check.
Studied the Koran in school? – Check.
Publicly recited the Muslim confession of faith, the Shahada, in Arabic? – Check.
Has NOT publicly recited the Christian confession of faith, “Jesus is Lord and I believe in my heart that God has raised Him from the dead”? – Check.
Understands Islamic nationalism (I.E., worldwide Ummah and Sharia)? – Check.
Promoted by Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakan? – Check.
As President of the United States, has publicly recited multiple passages of the Koran? – Check.
In a “coded” manner, promotes Islamic Jihad? – Check.
In a “coded” manner, promotes Islamic nationalism, including bringing the U.S.A. into that as the 58th Islamic state? – Check.
See also: Michelle Obama’s trip to Spain was not “Tone Deaf”, it was Pitch-Perfect… … to the Cordoba Initiative.
Now, as to Jeremiah Wright and “Black Liberation Theology”… that is nothing more than the combined forces of Marxism and Islamism, wrapped in sheep’s clothing.

“the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer” = the Shahada = the Muslim confession of faith.
By publicly saying the Shahada, in Arabic, Barack Hussein Obama was declaring himself a Muslim.
Obama’s claims of “I am a Christian” are Taqiyya.
Obama has not, and will not, confess the Christian confession of faith.
Obama has not, and will not, say, “Jesus Christ is Lord, and I believe in my heart that God has raised Him from the dead.”
But here’s what Obama will say…

On August 22nd, 2010 at 7:23 am, radio relay said:
Indeed.
The confessions of Obama’s own mouth shows him to be both a Muslim and a Marxist.
“Only a coalition of Marxists and Islamists can destroy the United States”, and it appears that Obama is part of that coalition.

Here’s a bit more info and a few other links…
Carlos the Jackal is both a Communist Revolutionary and a convert to Islam. Perhaps he is also a Jihadist. He wrote a letter to Obama talking about “Our Comrade”, “martyrs”, asking Obama to close Guantanamo base and “return that occupied territory to its rightful owners, the Cuban people, on this 50th anniversary of their revolution”, and ending with:
This is consistent with the TRUTHs shown in my post: A Different “9/11 Truth”
August 22, 2010 at 3:03 pm
Here’s some larger context of that NY Times interview:
With that interview, Barack Hussein Obama made it known to the Muslim world that:
1) He lived in Jakarta, the capital of the world’s most populous Muslim nation (Indonesia).
2) He comes from a line of Muslims.
3) He took Koran study classes.
4) He is aware of, and sensitive to, Muslim nationalism.
5) He recited the Shahada in Arabic.
Non-Muslims need to understand what #5 means to Muslims.
#5 is really all you need to know to understand that Obama “came out” to the Muslim world as one of them. The other four things are icing on the cake to them.
Later, as President, Obama recited the Koran multiple times. That’s another thing that is very significant to Muslims.
August 23, 2010 at 2:41 pm
Didn’t know about this muslim call to prayer being the thing that declares oneself to be a muslim. Good info. Thanks for that.
After reading your post, what jumps out at me is that if there is anything that is “obvious” as the white house puts it, it is that he has publicly declared himself to be a muslim, not a Christian.
I kind of like the way that we present evidence and the other side didn’t show any evidence and just implies that we are kind of loony.
August 23, 2010 at 3:54 pm
Wow, this is actually pretty big news. Typical.
Is it true that Obama aides are planning a summit in Saudi Arabia in October 2012 in Jeddah? Apparently that’s close to Mecca, and the summit is the same week as Hajj (sp?) when the Muslims do their pilgrimage.
Interesting.
August 23, 2010 at 4:05 pm
yo,
Thank you for your comment. Please spread the word about this to people that you know.
I had known for two years that “Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent”, and I had long suspected that this made him a Muslim, based on the words he spoke.
But it wasn’t until just recently that I learned that this is, in fact, precisely what Muslims look for as evidence of conversion to Islam.
And I have the “Ground Zero Mosque” Imam to thank for making me aware of that.
While researching Imam Feisel Abdul Rauf and the Cordoba Initiative (the group behind the “Ground Zero Mosque”), I found this page:
Shariah Index Project
First, it’s pretty clear to me that this Imam seeks to have Shariah law spread worldwide. And yes, that includes the U.S., with this Mosque playing a large role in that project.
Second, I did a Bing search on Islamicity, and found my way to Islamicity.com. That is where I saw the scrolling messages about various people who “took Shahada”. I had never heard of “Shahada” before, so I looked it up. What I found is that the Shahada is the Muslim declaration of belief, and that
The Shahada is the opening part of the call to prayer.
I put it all together and realized that Obama recited the Shahada in Arabic. I.E., Barack Hussein Obama “took Shahada”.
He was declaring to the Muslim world that he is a Muslim, while simultaneously telling the Christian world, “I am a Christian”.
Textbook Taqiyaa.

Sudo,
Thank you for your comment. I have not heard anything about a summit in Saudi Arabia in October 2012 in Jeddah. Do you have a link?

“I am a Christian, and I am a devout Christian. I believe in the redemptive death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I believe that that faith gives me a path to be cleansed of sin and have eternal life. But most importantly, I believe in the example that Jesus set by feeding the hungry and healing the sick and always prioritizing the least of these over the powerful. I didn’t ‘fall out in church’ as they say, but there was a very strong awakening in me of the importance of these issues in my life. I didn’t want to walk alone on this journey. Accepting Jesus Christ in my life has been a powerful guide for my conduct and my values and my ideals.”
– Barack Obama, Christianity Today, January 2008

I’ve looked for a link for that summit, and the best I can find is one that seems to have been moved to Libya recently. I got the information from a coworker of mine (who is a muslim). He went to Mecca last year and met with some family members who work for the Saudi secret police. They were given a security briefing and were told to expect Obama in Mecca that year on a diplomatic trip, but the plans were changed at the last minute. At the end of the briefing they were told that he would instead be visiting in 2012 while at a summit in Jeddah.
This guy is fairly trustworthy, but who knows. Just wanted to know if you heard anything about this.

BL,
Do you have a link or other way to access that quote? I’d like to see more on it. Note that I’m not challenging the legitimacy of the quote you provided, I would simply like to see things such as that for myself.
Sudo,
Yours is naturally more difficult to verify, but if there is a link anything you could provide or feel comfortable providing regarding your post, I would equally find that helpful. I won’t ask you to copy and paste emails or letters from friends because those are personal, but anything that you are comfortable with providing would be certainly helpful. Perhaps you can use google-caching to pull up the link?

One note I would like to point out is Ryan’s claim of loving the US. While he certainly put that into text and posted it, his previous posts stood in stark contrast to that claim. Based not only on said post, but also on his past activity, it seems more accurate to say that he did not love the US, but rather he only loved the TRAPPINGS of US prosperity and way of life.
I take issue with this because it’s like saying that you love Great Britain only after being knighted by the Queen. You’ll certainly enjoy all the perks of being a member of nobility even though you despise the nobility system for its historic oppression of those who aren’t in the club.
The truth of the matter is that while liberals are certainly happy to reap the benefits that come from American prosperity, they’re unhappy with the concepts and principles which brought about all that they reap. That is why they despize so much those who oppose the elimination of said principles and support so strongly those who work to eliminate them. This can be shown no more clearly than by highlighting their unrelenting support of the government take-over of healthcare, their hatred of those who would like to privatize or reduce Soc Sec, and constant sneering at those of us who point out the utter failure of other wealth redistribution scams such as the stimulus packages.
They further this through their staunch belief such ridiculous notions that waterboarding is torture while conveniently ignoring the fact that the designation of it as such was motivated solely by politics. It had nothing to do with principles, unless you count their principal hatred of Bush. That designation was all about finding a way to nerf effective means of interrogation IOT weaken US efforts to root out and eliminate terrorism. After all, what better way to hurt US efforts to eliminate cowards like terrorists than to cripple their intel gathering efforts by whatever means you can? For all those who claim to believe that waterboarding is torture, whose side are you really on?
Last note: Sorry Ron, love the work you did, but not so much the accepting of a foreign nobility title. His acceptance of the title was certainly legal and a good FR/PR move, but definitely not an American thing to do. That said, while I understand and accept it given the context in which he did accept it, it still goes against one of the basic American principles that made our country so great.

Re Soetero/Obama’s Christ-affirming words in Christianity Today in 2008 (see BirtherLover above), I recall the gentleman from South Carolina who shouted out during S/O’s speech to a joint session of Congress in 2009, “YOU LIE.” Those who know something of the duplicity that has characterized S/O’s career are not readily duped by his self-serving election-year rhetoric.
Does the sly wolf who is approaching in sheep’s clothing defeat his purpose by casting off his disguise and proclaiming his wolfish nature to the sheep? No, and calculated duplicity is an essential, built-in technique of Islam. It is called taqiyaa, “the practice of precautionary dissimulation whereby believers may conceal their faith.” (Wikipedia)
To gain the most powerful position on the planet, S/O’s politically expedient lie would have the blessing of any Muslim theologian. The aim is to advance Islam, and to too many Muslims that lofty end justifies any means, from bombing markets and embassies and skyscrapers to political trickery.
Despite S/O’s post-election claim that American is no longer a Christian country, before the election any fool would know that he could never win by running as a Muslim. S/O is a trained Marxist revolutionary and will lie whenever it is useful for him to lie. To accept his declaration of Christian faith at face value is naive.
Notice, by the way, how in CT Obama’s socialist/Marxist colors do shine through when he says that what is more important than the path to eternal life that Christ provides–”most importantly,” he says–is the example Christ set in “always prioritizing the least of these over the powerful.” That socialist emphasis has been the basis for revolutionary “class struggle” for at least the past century and explains why S/O has been so ardently supported by the socialists/communists/Muslims who, once they get the upper hand themselves, never hesitate to wield the whip of domination over those whose submission they demand.
August 24, 2010 at 6:18 pm
BirtherLover,
Thank you for providing the link. Let’s take a closer look at what Obama did and did not say…
Note that Obama did not give a direct answer to either of the two questions that the interviewer asked:
In my own case, I could answer those questions very directly… Yes and Yes.
Obama, elsewhere, has claimed that he was brought up in non-religious household. Even if he considered himself an atheist or an agnostic before “walking down the aisle at Trinity United Church of Christ”, if he truly accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior that day, then he should not have had any problem answering those questions as directly as I would.
Now, I do give credit to Obama for saying, “I believe in the redemptive death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.” At least he claims to believe in the resurrection. That’s necessary, but not sufficient. Let’s look again at what the Bible says about salvation:
Do you see any mention of the word “Lord” when Obama talks about Jesus? No, you don’t. And I believe he won’t. I’ve been saying this for over two years, and so far Obama has not proven me wrong.
Obama said, “I have been a member of the same church for almost 20 years”
Well the pastor of his church has also allowed anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian articles to be published in the church bulletin.
And the pastor of his church bestowed his own “Lifetime Achievement Award” upon the leader of the Nation of Islam – Louis Farrakhan.
I don’t know many born-again Christians who would do either of those things, let along both of them.
Obama’s “church” is not like most churches. It is a “Black Liberation Theology” church.
The Dangers of “Liberation Theology”
The Socialist Gospel
And finally, Obama’s claim that “I have never practiced Islam”.
Well, he “practiced Islam” when he “took Shahada”.
And his adopted “older sister” Lia, whom he called “Mbak Non”, might have something to say about whether or not Obama ever “practiced Islam”… that is, she might if she hadn’t died suddenly after planning to talk to the press.

I found the AP’s article failed to take into consideration anything that didn’t serve AP’s purpose of cleaning up Obama’s image. It is likely that the majority of people that believe Obama to be a Muslim have heard Obama’s claims that he is a Christian, but get this AP, they don’t believe that Obama is telling the truth because his heritage as well as his actions have placed that doubt in their mind.
August 27, 2010 at 10:38 am
Justa Joe,
Thank you for your comment.
Exactly.
Obama has told Christians, “I am a Christian” and Obama has, by reciting the Shahada in Arabic, told Muslims that he is a Muslim.
A person cannot be both Christian and Muslim at the same time.
And given that Islam condones lying (Taqiyya), while Christianity does not (see Bible references below), it is clear that he can be a Muslim but he cannot be a Christian.
A Muslim could make both confessions (saying both “I am a Christian” and reciting the Shahada in Arabic).
A Christian could not.
The Bible does not condone lying.
No one comes to the Father except through Jesus Christ.
No one can confess the Shahada in Arabic without denying Jesus Christ.
No one can confess the Shahada in Arabic and simultaneously be a true Christian.

Would they distort the truth in order to gain a political advantage?
Well, check out this example:
December 13, 2010 at 2:12 pm
Could H. RES. 593 be used as “prima facie” evidence by the State of Hawaii to issue Dr. Fukino’s second News Release and finally make the claim “Obama was born in Hawaii”?
I think the answer is yes, based on
I guess it depends on whether a “Resolution” is considered an “Act” of Congress. If “Acts of Congress” are limited to actual bills that pass both houses and are signed by the President to become an official Act, then no. But if a simple “Resolution” of a single chamber of Congress is considered an “Act of Congress”, then yes.
Members of Congress never inspected any original, initial vital record to verify the “Obama birth narrative”. They neglected their responsibilities under Section 3 of the 20th Amendment. They effectively “outsourced” those responsibilities to an unelected, unaccountable third party that has connections to Obama (via Annenberg). They Assumed that the fraudulent COLB which was shown to a small, select, controlled audience from Annenberg Political Fact Check was actually authentic.
Members of Congress voted in favor of H.Res. 593 with the assumption that the COLB was authentic, and never realized that they were being played… they themselves were unknowingly becoming the ” prima facie” evidence that Obama was born in Hawaii.
Did the State of Hawaii make the claim that “Obama was born in Hawaii” base on H.Res. 593 and not based on any hospital record of Obama’s birth in Hawaii? I think so.
But now that Neil Abercrombie has become Governor, I have little doubt that new documents will be manufactured in Hawaii. Time is short for members of Congress to demand to see the original, initial vital records, released directly to them under seal by the State of Hawaii.
