Read Matthew 11:4-6

The blind…see
the lame…walk
the lepers…are cleansed
the deaf…hear
the dead…are raised up
–and–
the poor…have the gospel preached to them.

Government is supposed to lift people out of poverty

Wrong! (But that’s the Democratic Socialist Communist Party sales pitch…)

Show me where our country’s founding document, the Declaration of Independence, says that. It doesn’t. What it does say about the purpose of government, why governments are instituted among men, is to protect (secure) our God-given (Creator-endowed) unalienable rights:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the consent of the governed…

Read Declaration 1.0, particularly the list that follows this:

Baptism is what you do as an act of obedience to God after you have done the following two things to be saved:

1) Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus
(confess with your mouth, “Jesus Christ is Lord!“)

2) Believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead
